Design and 3D Printing Service Engineer

  • As a Design and 3D Printing Service Engineer I was majorly involved in managing Design & 3D print requests of customers via phone & emails and work with them to finalize the design file for final print. Assists customers in prototyping and suggests them the use of Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing expertise to help seek out new opportunities with various 3D Printing techniques among FDM, SLA, DLP, SLS, DMLS for their problem statements. Monitor the production process in all 3D Printers and ensure the smooth operations of it all with troubleshooting and maintenance if required. I was also involved in demonstration, sales, installations and after sales services of the 3D printers to various institutions.
  • During the period, I have handled several projects of various nature amongst which two were flagship one i.e. Heart Stent and Wifi Dongle enclosure design and rapid prototyping with the help of additive manufacturing techniques. Also secured the sales of 03 units of UP Plus brand FDM based 3D Printers in the educational institutions. I have also conducted numerous workshops and seminars in educational and industrial institutions to aware the students and engineers about additive manufacturing technologies.

  • As a Junior Research Fellow my job was to assist the co-researchers in their projects for conceptual sketching & CAD modelling, simultaneously assist them in the operations and maintenance of the machines (SOM, 3-Axis & 5-Axis machines). I was the bridge for the procurement of major equipment & materials for the development of the projects of researchers. I also exercised my duty as a Coordinator for CEP course on Additive Manufacturing(3D Printing) combined with industrial visit.
  • I was involved in a project "Aqua Treadmill", aimed to resolve the issues related to fitness and health of the people such as Obesity, Knee Joint,etc. An in depth study was done in context to the requirements, design, materials, vendors after several rounds of visit to the client to understand the problem statement. I prepared the BOM and did the initial CAD modelling of the project post conceptual designing. A prototype was made with the help of Acrylic, Wood, Treadmill for the real time simulations.

  • I had worked as a Maintenance Engineer Intern at maintenance dept. of Crompton Greaves, as apart of a curriculum.
  • I was suppose to ensure that machinery, systems, infrastructure, and equipment run optimally with minimal downtime. I had to diagnose the faults and undertake the planned maintenance of the same. I used to establish maintenance procedures and protocols, while train the staff on equipment operating and maintenance procedures. My critical role was to respond to major equipment breakdowns and play an active role in helping the organization set up and execute preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance.
  • I was majorly involved in the project "Maintenance of Slitting Machine" which was a 30 years old machine giving the results of improper cutting of steel sheets due to breakdown of a bearing. I had to look after the maintenance procedures and inspect the issues pertaining to the malfunctioning of the machine and suggests the measures to overcome it. I also had to maintain the maintenance journal and protocols for future references. All these efforts saved a major chunk of cost to the department and company's annual budgets.
