A part of the international Fab Lab network based at the MIT Center for Bits & Atoms, the New Collar Network provides nationwide hands-on training for the New Collar Workforce to earn Digital Badges in fabrication skills like 3D Printing, CAD design, robotics, AR/VR, design thinking, problem-solving, &more.
In interviews with 200 U.S. manufacturers, Sarah saw that a paradigm shift was needed to bring back well-paying, engaging manufacturing careers for middle class Americans. Her book, "The New Collar Workforce" describes the jobs open today in the Digital Factory and innovative training programs that prepare workers for this new world.
The New Collar Network offers Digital Badges for New Collar Jobs that combine coursework with hands-on project-based learning in Fab Labs throughout the country. Located in Santa Fe, NM we also operate two Fab Labs focused on workforce training and entrepreneurship.
With partial funding from the Los Alamos National Lab Foundation, the New Collar Network has developed and is delivering a pre-apprenticeship in 3D Printing to high school students at the Santa Fe Indian School. New Collar Digital Badges are also the foundation for a US DOL registered apprenticeship for 3D Printing technicians.
