• My visit was hosted by two laboratories - Laboratoire d' Informatique Fondamentale de Marseille (LIF), Aix-Marseille University, France, and prestigious LIA-INFORMEL (Indo-French International Formal Methods Lab).
• The internship was part of my undergraduate thesis guided by Dr. Benjamin Monmege (Assistant Professor, Modelling and Verification Team, LIF). The other collaborators were Prof. Benedikt Bollig (Full-time researcher, CNRS, LSV, ENS-Cachan), and Prof. Peter Habermehl (Professor, LIAFA, University of Paris Diderot 7).
• We developed an active learning method to infer min-plus automata. The algorithm is not restricted to deterministic devices but also applies to residual automata: a large class of non-deterministic automata that is strictly more expressive and exponentially more succinct.
• I delivered a seminar based on my work in LIF, Marseille on June 9th, 2016.

• Part of TIFR's very prestigious Visiting Students Research Program (VSRP) in which exceptionally talented and highly motivated students selected from all over India are exposed to research activities. Some of the activities involved as part of VSRP were a set of lectures on physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, and computer science by leading scientists and mathematicians in the respective fields in India and abroad, visits to labs, Tarapaur Atomic Power Station (TAPS), etc.
• My internship was guided by Prof. R.K. Shyamasundar, and Dr. N.V. Narendra Kumar. Prof. Shyamasundar is currently a JC Bose National Fellow, and Distinguished Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Dr. Narendra Kumar is currently an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology, Hyderabad, India.
• We designed an algorithm to detect metamorphic viruses, and also implemented the celebrated algorithm for 'Similarity Search in High Dimensions via Hashing' by Rajeev Motwani, in C++.
• In addition to the project, I successfully completed a 'Beginner's course in Python Programming' offered by Prof. Jaikumar Radhakrishnan (School of Technology and Computer Science, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai).
