• FStream: Many organizations are focusing on low-latency data-driven decision-making to improve upon the business value proposition and increase the competitive advantage. There are multiple use cases in Flipkart that require real time computation. To solve such business use cases quickly and easily, Data Platform team is building fStream the next generation real time data processing platform. fStream will allow software developers, data engineers and analysts to use high level expressive language (SQL like) for simple/known patterns or write custom code using a software development kit (SDK) which would abstract the underlying streaming framework from the user. Specifically, the user would not have to worry about scaling and operations.
• UIE-Athena: A realtime processing system for time-partitioned aggregated data. This system was used org-wise specifically by User-Insight and TNS for their realtime use cases as well as during realtime classification by Machine Learnt models.
• This was majorly developed on the tech-stack of Spark, Kafka and HBase.
• The config driven platform is based on a near real time streaming architecture to consume events and generate signals (Event - Signal phase) and consume those signals and generate insights(Signal - Insight phase)
• Another capability is to generate insights based on time-partitions eg. insights for the last 6 months/ hourly insights.
• The platform also had rule based actioning capability built on Drools.
