About

With over a decade of experience in the domain of intellectual property rights (IPR), I have developed deep expertise in patent examination, prosecution, and policy implementation, particularly in the fast-evolving field of Electronics and Communication. My journey in IPR began as an Examiner of Patents and Designs, where I built a strong foundation in the technical and legal aspects of patentability, novelty, inventive step, and industrial applicability. I graduated from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering. My academic training equipped me with a strong analytical background and a passion for technological innovation, which I now apply daily in evaluating cutting-edge patent applications. In my current role as a controller of patents , I am entrusted with examining and deciding patent applications across a range of emerging technologies — including semiconductors, telecommunications, IoT, embedded systems, signal processing, and more. My responsibilities include conducting detailed prior art searches, applying complex patent laws, and drafting well-reasoned examination reports and final decisions. I also mentor examiners and contribute to streamlining procedures aligned with international best practices. Beyond the technical and legal aspects of patents, I am deeply committed to supporting innovation ecosystems in India. I regularly engage with stakeholders across academia, industry, and the legal fraternity, and take active interest in standard-essential patents (SEPs), licensing frameworks, and IP policy development. With a growing interest in emerging issues at the interface of technology, law, and public policy, I aim to continue contributing to India’s journey as a global innovation leader. I believe that robust and transparent patent systems are fundamental to technological progress and economic development, and I am proud to play a part in shaping that future. If you are working in the innovation space — whether in startups, corporates, research institutions, or law firms — I am always open to meaningful conversations and collaborations that drive intellectual growth and real-world impact.
