• I joined ThoughtSpot India as one of first hires, and looked after its infrastructure globally, and played a key role in scaling both infrastructure as well as local team. I joined as an IC, but worked various hats during my tenure in first 18 months, involving building a collaborative culture, enabling fellow engineers to become productive, knowledge transfer on complete tech stack to newly opened head quarters.
• Apart from this, I worked in developer experience team and used to tackle problems of product, developers, release engineers by building better tools, scalable CI and managing various platforms like K8s, AWS, GCP, Private Cloud.
• Work:
• 1. Worked on scaling our CI to cost Effective EKS setup powered by spot instances.
• 2. Worked on building faster way to do build tooling for infrastructure team by a tooling framework nakama, which I primarily developed.
• 3. Lead a v-team which upgraded gerrit, our core SCM to multi-site replication, to support geographical offices.
• 4. Nebula is one of our joint team work where we are able to provision backends on any platform like bare metal, aws, gcp, vmware, azure, K8s etc. I've worked on AWS side of it, and made whole work run on spot instances reliably.
• 5. I also worked in improving user experience on the side of nebula, while conducting surveys and tracking user journeys.
• 6. 360 degree Infrastructure ops analytics.
• I was responsible for building our initial visibility stack across engineering operations, that included CI visibility, Code Review visibility, core systems visbility.
• Release engineers, Enginering leads and developers, who would have critical insights to their core pipelines.
• Many of our strategic work in company relied on numbers crunched out by this workflow.
