My journey in fashion began at Myntra, where I witnessed firsthand the industry's wasteful practices. Excess inventory piled up, leading to mountains of markdowns and ultimately, landfills. As a technologist, I saw an opportunity to break this cycle.
VIRGIO 1.0 was born from this realization. We leveraged technology to spot a trend in its infancy, predict demand accurately, minimizing overproduction and ensuring that every piece created found its home.
However, we soon discovered that excess inventory was just one facet of the problem. Fast fashion, with its focus on cheap production, often relied on unsustainable materials, harmful chemicals, and exploitative labor practices.
This realization gave birth to VIRGIO 2.0. We expanded our mission beyond minimizing waste to creating 'good' fashion in its entirety. We are committed to using eco-friendly materials, supporting ethical production, and empowering our artisans.
VIRGIO is more than just a fashion brand; it's a movement towards a more sustainable and equitable future for the fashion industry.
