As a software engineer at Google, I'm passionate about the evolving craft of software development. For the past several months, I've been on a deep dive into a new paradigm of AI-assisted engineering. This journey led me to create "Vibe Coding 101," a comprehensive internal guide on practical, agentic AI workflows. My goal was simply to share what I'd learned with my team. To my surprise, the guide went viral within Google, becoming a go-to resource for thousands of engineers, from new grads to VPs and Distinguished Engineers. The core philosophy is a shift from being a "coder" to an "architect": using natural language to guide AI, while focusing on high-level planning, context curation, and ruthless quality review. This experience has been the most exciting of my career. It's not just about a 10% productivity boost; it's about a 10x shift in how we approach problem-solving. I'm excited to continue exploring and sharing what the future of our profession looks like.
