About

Currently building the rails for the vision of a better connected world, which has privacy with trust, lot of data transactions with consent, directories with delegations. We at @Dhiway are solving the real world governance and data flow problems at scale in India, and making it available for the world. Focus is on building *Open Trust Infrastructure* (#OTI) --- 19 Years of experience with Startup eco-system. Started with Ittiam in 2004, with Gluster (seeing it from 4 ppl company to get acquired), Red Hat, Unbxd, Kadalu and Dhiway. Been working on distributed storage, or software defined storage world for 16 years (GlusterFS). Getting concept to prototype quickly is my core strength. Tried my hand with Android app developments, back-end API servers, basic web UI development. Managed teams, worked and lead open source project community. Was part of two successful acquisition (Gluster Acquired by Red Hat, and Red Hat acquired by IBM). In last 5+ year , involved in Identity and Verifiable Credential space. Involved in CORD.Network (a blockchain / distributed ledger) development, which is focused on immutability of data, being a token-less blockchain. Making software for solving real world problem keeps me excited.

Scrawle software

Founder

Dec 2013Feb 2017 · 3 yrs 2 mos · Bengaluru Area, India

  • Tried many things in this 2 years.
  • Scrawl-e: An effort to have comments/notes on any content of internet, so people can discuss and remember what they read on web-pages. - similar to how google docs comment works.
  • killbills: An mobile app to make expense report easy, Specially OCR on a receipt's photo, so itemized bill is presented by just taking photos - similar to concur
  • Where do I vote? - A hobby project we did to parse and get Electoral data of India, So, we could give hints to urban population about their polling booth. - https://yourstory.com/2014/04/go-vote-mumbai
  • Candee - An effort to bring e-commerce to tier-3 and smaller cities, specially giving a PoS tablet to kirana shops, and allow them to manage their inventory and also have option of home-delivery. Plan was to make money from the distributors, because they can send the appropriate shipment of products on time to that place. Today, it is majorly handled by a person on the ground collecting information of inventory once in a week or month and sending it after some more days, this causes delay in shipment, and makes consumers shift to other brands if the product is not available on time.
  • Along with all this, had to talk to CAs to keep the taxation and legal work, and also keep attending conferences etc to keep in touch with other entrepreneurs and investors.
