• Led an engineering organisation of ~25 people across 3 teams to deliver Generative AI and Machine Learning powered products. This includes Booking.com's flagship Gen AI product, the AI Trip Planner. Directly managed Engineering Managers & Principal Engineers.
• Delivery highlights:
• Formed and led an engineering task force to launch the AI Trip Planner in collaboration with Machine Learning teams. The zero-to-one product launch was achieved in 2 months. Transformed the task force into a permanent setup, post launch.
• Co-created the tech strategy to deliver no / low code personalised content across the Booking.com website & mobile apps. This enabled the delivery of business critical content like Black Friday campaign, personalised recommendations, US Super Bowl campaign etc.

• Developed solutions for the Vacation Rentals segment of Booking.com's mobile applications. Extensively used A/B testing to detect user pain points to improve the quality of Booking.com's Vacation Rentals offering. Delivered features (e.g. host profile, single property owner experiences, search filters, onboarding experience, facility highlights etc) in critical high traffic areas (e.g. Homescreen, Search, Property Listing and Book Process) to fuel the growth of Booking.com's Vacation Rentals segment.

• Developed the following security solutions on Intel Atom:
• Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) - TEE protects portions of (or all) code and data belonging to a third party application from Ring-3 and Ring-0 malware. This solution includes a SDK which can be used to write Trusted Applications (TA).
• I worked in the user space modules of the project including Trusted UI, managing lifecycle of Trusted Applications, garbage collection, shared memory, permissions and SDK APIs.
• I also led a pod of 4 engineers for the development of Trusted UI test framework and Android components Gatekeeper and Keymaster usage in TEE.
• Secure Containers - Secure containers enable separation of enterprise and personal content. Container is a mechanism which groups a set of applications together and segregates their data from the rest of the applications running on the device. The container data is encrypted and password protected. Containers are managed by Device Management applications which receive commands from an admin server.
• I did Android framework modifications, system services (e.g. ActivityManager, PackageManager etc.) modifications, developed a new system service and MDM (Mobile Device Management) apps to manage Containers.

• Smart Actions - Smart Actions was a context-based Android application, which automated day-to-day tasks for users e.g. muting the phone in a meeting, optimizing battery performance while sleeping etc. It performed a set of actions when specific preconditions were met. The app used a rule based mechanism to personalize the experience based on user habits. A unique feature of the app was its usage of device sensors (e.g. proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, gyroscope) to detect real world scenarios (e.g. detecting if the phone is in user's pocket).
• Smart Actions was first launched on Motorola Droid Razr. This application had more than 10 million downloads from Google Play Store.

Jul 2008 – Feb 2011 · 2 yrs 7 mos · Bengaluru Area, India

• Shipped Android applications and AOSP (Android Open Source Project) customizations in first editions of Samsung's flagship Galaxy S series phones. Developed a new application (AllShare), delivered Android Framework customizations and modifications to the Email & Settings applications.
• AllShare - Worked at Samsung Electronics Headquarters, Suwon, South Korea on the development of All Share application for Samsung Galaxy S device. All Share is based on DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance). DLNA is a standard used by manufacturers of consumer electronics to allow entertainment devices (like mobiles, laptops, TV etc) within the home to share their media content with each other across a home network.
• The application was one of the system apps in Galaxy S and Galaxy S II and reached more than 50 million users.
