• Worked as a part of:
• Presto on Qubole : Working on features involving - cost reduction for Presto clusters on cloud while maintaining stability, improving join type selection in cases where table statistics are not present, improving scheduling and execution of joins, filesystem improvements and tunings for cloud object stores, robust and performant presto cluster management on Qubole, improving upgrade process for supporting multiple versions, and customer escalations. • Hadoop on Qubole : Prior to Presto, worked on Hadoop-2 and YARN stack. Involved improving and maintaining various proprietary and open-source features like YARN based autoscaling, hadoop filesystem integrations with various cloud stores (S3, Azure Blob store, Azure DataLake store, OpenStack Swift), persistent job history storage services and fixing various customer issues with hadoop.
• HBase on Qubole : Started off with working on HBase as a service at Qubole. Involved working on enhancing and adding features on top of open-source HBase for better backups, alerting/monitoring + attending to customer issues. Integrated HBase + Hadoop High Availability services across Qubole backend stack.
