• As a DevOps/SRE Engineer at IBM, I have driven automation, observability, and operational excellence for the Cloud Object Service (COS) initially and then at Key Management Service (kms) in IBM Cloud. My work has focused on building scalable, reliable systems while leveraging modern tools and practices.
• My Major overview of my work areas are below
• Automation and Orchestration : Designed pipelines using Tekton Pipelines, shell scripting, and Ansible Playbooks to automate region onboarding, agent updates, and worker node upgrades, improving operational efficiency and ensuring compliance.
• Observability Improvements : Onboarded Key Protect to Atracker and Logs Router, deploying agents across environments and configuring dashboards in Cloud Logs. Used Regex to optimize log parsing and filtering, reducing resource costs.
• Deployments and CI/CD : Deployed Key Protect service updates globally, adhering to CI/CD principles. Automated testing with Python (unittest) and ensured secure, seamless deployments with compliance guidelines.
• Testing and Monitoring : Developed regression test suites for KMIP APIs using Golang, conducted performance benchmarking, and implemented alerting integrations with PagerDuty and Slack to enhance monitoring and response times.
• BCDR and Maintenance : Supported BCDR testing by deploying Kubernetes clusters and validating disaster recovery scenarios. Performed critical maintenance tasks, including secrets rotation and database patch upgrades.
• Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing : Presented demos and KT sessions on observability tools like Activity Tracker, Metrics Router, and Logs Router. Worked across global teams to resolve issues and optimize workflows.
