• At PayPal, I led a 10-member team focused on enhancing PayPal's in-store market presence by developing and implementing physical and digital cards for seamless payments. My role involved ensuring the scalability and performance of our APIs, optimized to handle the demands of over 100+ million customers and processing over 500+ million transactions, with a focus on delivering lower user-perceived latency. I collaborated closely with product managers and stakeholders to align our technical solutions with business goals, maintaining a strong customer-centric approach throughout the entire customer lifecycle—from onboarding to post-payment interactions—ensuring a consistently exceptional user experience.

• With PayPal officially announcing to enter China in Jan 2020, this project was aimed at enabling payments in China ecosystem via an acquisition of a Chinese licensed payment company called Gopay; a mammoth task which included adhering to Chinese regulations, establishing new data centers in home company, making PayPal components Geo aware, enabling cross Geo transactions and adhering to audit timelines to get license. As part of this organization, I have worked on multiple domains – payments, checkout and compliance on microservices built on Spring framework.

• As part of FI payments Singapore, which was focused on delivering portfolio-based projects, my major responsibility was working with Merchant Hawk Team which is web based merchant facing team based out of US; to enable native bank withdrawals for merchants in different markets like Denmark, Columbia to name a few; which included onboarding on the team’s tech stack of ReactJs, Graphql. While development being my major focus, I was also responsible for meeting the requirements of Product owners and delivering this product end to end.

• Built an enterprise scale scanner tool that helps in scanning the entire data infra of PayPal for PII/PCI data. This helps in alerting the sec-ops and privacy teams to recognise existence of deviations and address them appropriately. As part of this project, I was instrumental in designing and implementing the system which is scalable and deployable in multiple zones across PayPal and its subsidies. One of the major aspect of this system was to intelligently scan terabytes of data every data, which provided an opportunity for me to develop neural network for identifying PCI/PII data. This unique experience of building a system from open source technologies, following DevOpsSec model; identifying the gaps in products and improving constantly; a wholistic opportunity from inception of the product to the first MVP, to making it productional while handling the challenges of scalability and performance with integration of Artificial Intelligence.
