• In 2015, I was one of the first members to join Oyo's technology team. I had the privilege of contributing to various aspects of the company, including Fintech, Search, Pricing, Bookings, and Core Platform. Here's a simplified summary of my journey:
• 🚀 Engineering Leadership: As an Engineering Manager in 2015-16, I led a team of 8 talented developers responsible for the Hotel search, ranking, inventory, and dynamic pricing systems.
• 💡 Innovative Search & Sort: I played a pivotal role in improving Oyo's search and ranking platforms. We conducted A/B experiments on personalization, pricing, occupancy, and post-booking processes. Through these efforts, we boosted conversion rates by 15% in an year.
• 💻 Automated Reconciliation: I spearheaded the creation of Oyo's first auto-reconciliation software. This software automated the reconciliation of bookings and payments with our hotel and vendor partners, eliminating the need for manual bookkeeping across 100+ cities. This innovation led to zero manual accounts intervention in each city and enabled auto-settlement through integration with SAP.
• 🌟 Critical Modules Development: I had the privilege of designing and developing critical modules for Oyo, such as Dynamic Pricing, Flash-sales automation, Cancellation prediction, and Over-occupancy optimization.
• 🔗 Scalable Platforms: I was responsible for designing and scaling Oyo's Search and Pricing platforms to handle high levels of concurrency and traffic. We achieved a 20x increase in search platform capacity and a remarkable 100x improvement in pricing platform capacity to support real-time dynamic pricing.
• 🛡️ Application Security and Performance: I took the lead in enhancing application security and performance across all Oyo platforms. This involved collaborating with industry leaders like Akamai, Cloudfront, NewRelic, and several others to ensure top-notch security and performance for our users.
