• Leading a talented team of 20+ Data Engineers and Full Stack Engineers that Shishir built from scratch at LinkedIn India. This is a specialized team of engineers within the Data (Data Science + AI) org that works on building scalable Data Platforms, Products and Foundations for Data Scientists and AI Engineers (1000+ org size). Responsible for providing technical leadership, building a strong & a vital organization, with a sustained focus on career development of team members. Team recognized for its high impact, flawless execution of critical company initiatives, working cross functionally with DS, AI, Product Eng and PM teams across multiple BUs and spread across time zones.

Team worked cross-functionally across multiple LoBs such as Talent Solutions, Sales Solutions, Trust and Safety building scalable, high performant Data foundations for complex metric ecosystems along-with building internal and external Data products and platforms end-to-end.
• Built the team from scratch after moving to India in Oct 2019. The team operates in the niche space of Data Science Engineering,
• Was able to hire the initial team of 4 in a record amount of time (~3 months), with a use of innovative hiring strategies (pre-RPS tech screening, batch/ bulk interview days).
• The high performing team has in a short span established itself, the onboarding and execution happened right around the time Covid caused widespread disruptions to the way we are used to work.
• The team has today grown to 10+ SWEs, and is THE Engineering and solutions track team across India Data Science and AI teams.

• I served as Acting Chief of Staff to Ya Xu, Head of Data Science at Linkedin after she took over the role. I helped Ya and her leads initiate and execute a number of strategic projects and helped establish and manage the operational rhythm of the Data Science org which has 250+ extremely capable and talented Data Scientists.
• Key Highlights:
• Led the tiger team that designed and rolled out "Career tracks" in Data Science org. Creating dedicated Career tracks within Data Science has not only helped us with targeted hiring, but more importantly, in a multi-displinary org as diverse as ours, it has fostered a sense of belonging and identity with clarity on career progression.
• Operational excellence – Helped streamline and optimize the operational rhythm of the org with initiatives around Budget and headcount management, Internal mobility, redesign of New hire onboarding experience, Contractor management etc
• Communications – Responsible for internal org and external event Comms for Head of Data Science (keynotes, presentations, all-hands, manager forums, org wide updates etc)
• DS Newsletter – Responsible for crafting the weekly DS newsletter sent out to Execs and Product, Eng and BizOps leadership teams. The newsletter proved to be quite a hit and the product insights showcased therein have been influential in initiating and shaping numerous strategic discussions and initiatives.

• Notable accomplishments:
• Key member of DS team that worked from experiment+metric design to 100% ramp of a top initiative that refreshed the web app tech stack as well overhauled backend tracking
• Lead DS on a first-of-its-kind experiment that attempted scientifically measure via AB testing the impact of degradation in site performance on business metrics
• Oversaw LinkedIn-Microsoft integration analytics as the lead, managing metric definitions and providing weekly reports on multiple integration initiatives to the Microsoft Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and LinkedIn executives.
• Designed and developed a core suite of metrics to measure Linkedin's performance. These were reported to the street during Linkedin's days as an independent company, and later to Microsoft after the acquisition.
