About

I am Subash, a graduate in Mechatronics Engineering from Kumaraguru College of Technology, with a focused expertise in automotive systems, robotics, embedded systems, and industrial automation. During my tenure as a core member of Team Sakthi Racing (Formula Student Team), I played a pivotal role in designing and developing wiring harnesses and data acquisition systems, significantly enhancing real-time vehicle monitoring and overall performance. Beyond my core technical work, I have actively engaged in multidisciplinary research, contributing to research papers, review articles, and a book chapter, showcasing my ability to apply engineering principles across diverse domains. I am currently pursuing my MSc in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nottingham, UK, England, focusing on the automotive stream, where I am developing advanced skills in vehicle dynamics, design systems, automotive design, and performance optimization. I am passionate about advancing automotive technologies and aim to leverage my academic knowledge and hands-on experience to contribute to innovative solutions in vehicle engineering, sustainable mobility, and high-performance automotive systems.

Electrical and Electronics Lead

Feb 2024Mar 2025 · 1 yr 1 mo · On-site

  • As the Electrical and Electronics Lead of Team Sakthi Racing, I am responsible for designing, developing, and managing all electrical systems within our Formula Student vehicle. This includes creating reliable wiring architectures, integrating sensors and actuators, and ensuring proper functioning of all electronic components. I lead the development and implementation of critical subsystems such as the power distribution unit (PDU), dashboard, data acquisition (DAQ) systems, and driver feedback mechanisms.
  • I coordinate with other subsystem leads to ensure that electrical designs align with mechanical and vehicle dynamics requirements. I oversee PCB design, microcontroller programming, and embedded system integration to support real-time data monitoring and vehicle performance tracking. Safety, reliability, and compliance with competition regulations are top priorities throughout the development process.
  • In addition to technical responsibilities, I mentor junior team members, delegate tasks effectively, and promote hands-on learning within the subsystem. I also contribute to documentation for technical inspections and presentations during competitions. My role is crucial in ensuring the vehicle’s electrical backbone supports optimal performance, innovation, and competition readiness.
