'I wish I can be a sustainable, vernacular architect who is close to nature and can continue to experience the happiness I get from planning, designing out of box, unique and making it into a finner form which fits in the context. Enjoying designing without harming the beautiful' 🌎 I, Rosmi George, architect, upcoming environmental engineer. Motivated by my passion for crafting unique environments, I pursued an architecture degree at SCMS School of Architecture in 2018. In my final 10th semester, my thesis titled ‘Building Earthquake resistant structure using vernacular materials in North Eastern India: Sikkim’ focused on sustainable architecture, presenting diverse challenges in architecture and construction techniques. I have the privilege to work in Auroville, an experimental township in India as an architect in Studio Naqshbandi and Sacred groves (Dec 2023 – Nov 2024) where I get the chance to explore sustainability to its practical levels. Currently, I am an enthusiastic freelance architect at Rozen Architecture in collaboration with Shimogi enterprise, Kerala (till Feb 2025), actively involving in designing, drafting, research and real estate works. I have done volunteering educating the village students of Nepal, Sikkim and Auroville during my professional career. I have the opportunity to be part of the volunteering by Daughters of the cross at Nepal in primary health check-up for the villagers. I have also volunteered for the flood relief activities in Kerala flood 2018 by collecting and packing materials for the victims.
