As the Secretary of Alumni Affairs at Patel Hall of Residence, I had the opportunity to contribute to both community engagement and event coordination. I was actively involved in the media and sponsorship team, where we successfully negotiated a barter deal to support a blood donation drive. It was a meaningful experience not just from an organizational perspective but also on a personal level, as I participated as a donor, contributing to the cause directly.
Beyond the campus, I took part in a donation drive organized for a nearby village orphanage. Visiting the children there left a lasting impact on me — their curiosity, dreams, and pure enthusiasm were deeply inspiring. Watching them play sports with such energy and skill reminded me how talent and passion can thrive even in the most modest environments. These experiences helped me grow both as a communicator and as a more empathetic individual, reinforcing the value of grassroots engagement and human connection.

I had the opportunity to be a part of Shaurya, the annual sports fest of IIT Kharagpur, as a member of the publicity and marketing team. I was involved in publicizing key events like the Night Bash for freshers, the induction programme, and the college-level e-sports tournament. I also contributed to organizing the selections for associate members and led outreach through a campus ambassador program to increase participation from across India. We hosted an online webinar with squash player Ramit Tandon and created engaging video content featuring freshers. During the fest, I was also part of the accommodation team, helping with logistics for teams arriving on campus. This experience gave me exposure to event management, digital outreach, and team coordination on a large scale.
