About

With over a decade of experience in technology leadership, I’m currently an Executive Director and Head of Engineering for Web and Pensions at JPMorgan Chase, driving the next generation of our digital investment and retirement platforms. My role combines strategic oversight of large-scale web architecture with hands-on technical direction, ensuring reliability, performance, and innovation across our customer-facing experiences. My journey spans the automotive, finance, and digital entertainment sectors, where I’ve led teams to design and deliver bespoke, high-impact web applications — from car valeting systems and broadband comparison platforms to digital wealth and pensions products now serving millions of customers. I bring a balance of creativity and technical depth, blending leadership in engineering strategy with a personal passion for building products. Outside of JPMorgan, I channel that same curiosity into writing, game development (using Godot and JavaScript/HTML5 Canvas), and continuous experimentation with automation and API integration — always looking for new ways to make technology simpler, faster, and more human. As an author and thought leader, I’ve written books such as Automating with Node.js and Software Engineers Do What Now?, and contributed to publications including Smashing Magazine, CSS-Tricks, SitePoint, Medium, Egghead, and HackerRank. I enjoy sharing insights that demystify engineering leadership and inspire others to learn, automate, and grow. A graduate with an Upper Second BSc in Internet Computing, I continue to apply a rigorous analytical mindset to leadership: transforming complex systems and organizational challenges into scalable, elegant solutions. My focus today is on empowering engineers, modernizing core platforms, and delivering exceptional digital experiences in a regulated environment. Apr 2013Jul 2013 · 3 mos · Remote work for Company in New York

  • Working as a contractor for the largest industrial gas company in North and South America to create a web system that allows employees to choose awards for working with the company. I have demonstrated analytical skills to identify the data processing and modelling required. I have used my design skills to create a professional aesthetic looking web system that is easy and effective to use. I have created it by keeping to deadlines and regularly pushed all my work to a git repository so that the client is aware of my progress. I showed consistent commitment to the project through milestones and tickets using a web based project management system called codebase.
  • The system is used by 20k+ users and 2.4K managers to manage orders in various places around America. These orders are managed by administrators and managers and placed in a report that is then sent to all the departments.
