  • Project Sprint: E-Commerce Process Transformation
  • Objective:
  • The objective of project Sprint is to redesign & implement core enterprise processes of WUSA in areas of:
  • 1. SCM – Supply Chain Management
  • 2. F&A – Finance & Accounting
  • 3. Customer Management
  • Deliverables:
  • 1. Slob provisioning (Process for SLOB identification in E-Commerce context)
  • Literature survey to find most effective SLOB metric in E-comm
  • Metrics for SLOB identification – Best Practices
  • Find Competitors Strategy
  • Apply the metrics on real Welspun data SKU level
  • 2. Slob provisioning (Accounting for SLOB)
  • Accounting challenges & best practices for SLOB
  • 3. Sales order management (Pricing in E-commerce & omnichannel)
  • Literature survey to identify best Machine Learning dynamic pricing models in USA E-Comm setting
  • Dynamic pricing in E-commerce & Omnichannel retail
  • Apply the Machine Learning dynamic pricing models in Python on real data
  • Methodology:
  • Implementation of project Sprint has been staggered into 5 sprints to have value releases in interval of 4-6 weeks. Each sprint in turn has 3 stages namely Process & SOP Redesign, Development & Execution and finally the Run stage.
  • Scope of the project:
  • At the time when summer internship started, Sprints 3 & 4 were in the design stage. My scope of project was in SLOB (Slow & Obsolete) inventory provisioning and Sales Order Management.
  • Outcome:
  •  Inventory optimization – Using SLOB identification metric developed by a Professor (Wroclaw University, Poland) 219 SKUs of March 2021 were SLOB which Inventory-sell-through & Inventory-turnover-ratio metrics found as 192 (12.33% error) & 202 (7.76% error) respectively.
  •  Machine Learning models - Submitted 3 ML models for SKU-wise dynamic pricing in E-commerce using Thompson Sampling, Hypothesis Testing & Deep Reinforcement learning algorithms. These dynamic pricing ML algorithms have proven improvement of profit by around 11.1%.
