About

Well-entrenched into academics after a mid-career switch to move from a techno-managerial (and also bureaucratic) job. Till 2015, I had been associated with operations, project management, quality management, IT management, education and training and many more roles in my 23+4 years with the Indian Railways (and its multiple units). I find myself in the academics after having experienced and recognized the strong influence of social sciences on the working of engineers and often labelled as "Management". While the diverse experience made me appreciate this influence in the real world, the Ph.D. training at a US research A-1 school enabled me to study it and further recognize the growing importance of the sciences discipline in the social science domain. I got a chance to study Organization Theory, Organization Behavior and Strategic Management and taking an organizational view decided to study the Public-private partnership phenomena. My dissertation, in which I studied Coordination(of how work is done) in Public Private Partnerships enabled me build fresh perspectives on the subject and evolve my thinking further. My career has so far allowed me spend time alternately in industry and academia i.e., 4 years (UG studies), 8 years (railway ground operations), 2 years (PG MBA IT), 6 years (IT management ), 5 years (Ph.D), 2 years (Railway middle management), 1 year (Railway education), and now..... I am a true sandwich and propose to use this to build a rich industry-academia interface where I am..
