• 1.Big Data Integration on Hadoop: Informatica Data Integration Platform provides Big Data Integration by deploying Informatica data processing jobs on Hadoop cluster. Key features are Ingesting and Extracting Data into/from HDFS, Hive and Hbase, Parsing on Hadoop, Data Discovery and Profiling on Hadoop, Data Integration & Data Quality on Hadoop, Workflow and Monitoring of Mixed Workloads (Hadoop and non Hadoop), Security and Administration on Hadoop. Led some of the key components of the overall Big Data Integration platform.
• 2.Metadata Engine: The model-driven Metadata repository is at the center of the Informatica Platform and provides tight integration across all Informatica products through shared models and a common repository. It is an extensible, reliable and scalable platform that provides persistence/CRUD, browse, Object import/export, security, concurrency, multi-tenancy, backup/restore, impact analysis, lineage, query and search. Managed development of some of the major features like multi-release upgrade, dynamic models, query support, server side caching, metadata generation SDK and several performance enhancements.
• 3.Informatica Services Platform (ISP): ISP is core part of Informatica Platform, which provides a common platform to manage and administer all services and a RPC layer. It provides a pluggable framework to add a new application service and various common set of services like High Availability/Fail-over, User Management, Authentication etc

Helped in putting strong engineering foundation and engineering practices around design, coding standards, unit testing, documentation, build & release and scaling R&D teams and other functions 50x over 6 years. • Designed, Implemented and led several features across multiple releases in core platform components. Led the overall development of Informatica Modeling framework (since ideation), which is foundation for Informatica’s next generation Data Integration platform. Following are key projects:
• Informatica Modeling Framework (IMF): IMF is an infrastructural component (on lines of eclipse modeling framework), for metadata persistence engine. Key components of IMF are - Modeling Language, Code generation tools in Java & C++, Runtime Support in Java and C++, Serialization Services and Validation Framework.
• Highly optimized and cross languages/platform serialization library: Platform and languages agnostic and highly optimized (for foot-print & performance) serialization library in Java & C++ for transporting modeled objects across Informatica services framework. Supports Binary and XML encodings. Used in underlying RPC transport layer
• Data Engine: Core of Informatica Platform, which powers Petabyte scale data processing. Led several enhancements in Data Engine like Big Int data type support, Auto Cache sizes, parameterization, look-up enhancement
• Data Profiling Product: Informatica PowerCenter Data Profiling empowers business analysts and data stewards to easily profile data and monitor any data quality issues.
• SOA Platform - Web Services Hub: Led the larger effort around Informatica’s SOA/Web Services initiatives and exposes the capabilities of PowerCenter as Web Services.

• Designed and implemented Web Services products and worked on pub-sub messaging system. Designed and implemented a generic framework for building various gateways (for different transport – SOAP, SMTP, HTTP, Jabber etc.) to firstRain’s eventServer. Goal was to provide gateways (for various transports) to firstRain’s implementation of a content based publish-subscribe system (known as eventServer, which is built on top of BEEP and APEX protocols).
• Led the overall effort around firstRain's SOA/WebServices product. Led the overall study/evaluation of various Web Services standards (SOAP/WSDL/UDDI), various implementation stacks and was instrumental in implementing following products:
• 1. firstRain’s WebServices Server: This project aims at developing a Server, which would facilitate users to create, deploy and publish (in UDDI) Web Services from (firstRain’s Studio) just by mouse clicks, i.e., without writing a single line of code. This project facilitates enterprise users to tap the huge unstructured information available on WWW in the form of Web Services without writing any code and thus providing users the capability to treat the Web as a data warehouse.
• 2. firstRain’s Studio WebService front-end: The key components of this project are XSL Generator, WSDL Generator and UDDI Publisher.

Worked in mathematics and computers core research group of CWI Amsterdam and University of Amsterdam.
