About

I lead AI in Databases at Google. My team's mission is to develop state-of-the art AI+Data innovations, it spans AI models (training, tuning, inference), AI Retrieval, Natural Language, AI Queries and Multimodal AI. My team in Google Cloud works closely with Google Research & Google DeepMind to develop and bring AI through our data services. In my 2 decades in data technologies, I helped introduce many industry-first technologies such as RAC (cluster) cache fusion protocols, parallel transaction processing, columnar and in-memory analytics. I have helped catapult multiple database products to be industry-leaders, most recently with AlloyDB and Cloud SQL in Google Cloud. I also led the creation of industry's first integrated management, cybersecurity and analytics suite of services in Cloud. I started my career as an engineer and have over a 100 patents. I have an MS in CS from Stanford University and B.Tech. in CS from IIT Bombay with the President of India Gold Medal.
