• Led 10+ SEs and SSEs on the UNP team, responsible for developing applications to serve notifications (Email, SMS, Push, Web Alerts, Paper, Chat, Web Hooks) for the entire suite of offerings by PayPal and its subsidiaries.
• Led the lightspeed notifications program for QRC payments, which involved the creation of new applications to increase efficiency
• without sacrificing reliability - reducing the push notification latency from ~10 seconds to under 150 ms.
• Created the designs for geo partitioning PayPal and hosting sharded availability zones in China and India, which involved several updates across the 40 applications which make up the notifications platform and the geo-distribution of 7 PB of data.

• Led a team of developers and coordinated with technical clients, business partners and vendors to design and deliver solutions for various programs spanning multiple applications and releases.
• Led the design and development of a brand new batch payment processing application using Java, Spring, Hibernate, Camel, Jasper, TypeScript and Angular - loading 10-30 million dollars in payments each day.
• Led the design and development a brand new javascript based payment interface using HyperHTML & Web-Components (X-Tag) - resulting in a 35% increase in transaction success rates.

• Working in the US, served as a liaison between the business clients and program architects on one hand and led a team of 8 developers on the other.
• Setup a centralized log aggregation and analysis solution using Kafka, Splunk, ElasticSearch, LogStash and Kibana - resulting in a 50% decrease in debugging and defect resolution times.
• Setup a comprehensive CI/CD system using Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify, Gradle, Maven and Ant - resulting in a 100% increase in frequency of code deliveries to system test.
• Designed and developed a natural language based UI testing automation solution using Groovy, Grails, CasperJS, PhantomJS, CoffeeScript and Drools.

• Setup from scratch and grew the offshore division of the payments team to 15 strong. Led 3 payment scrum teams, working on 6 different applications, across 2 different time-zones.

• Significantly improved the performance of batch processing on a product ordering workflow using multi-threading, distributed JMS queues and fine-tuning the memory and GC parameters using jMeter.

• Designed and developed a virtual clean room solution using IPFW, JavaFX and Kendo-UI to monitor and restrict network traffic for employees working on sensitive applications.
• Designed and developed an application to automate the catalog management of a product ordering workflow using Groovy, Grails, JQuery and Bootstrap - eliminating 8 hours of manual labor per week.
• Designed and developed an application to automate the testing of a product ordering workflow using Groovy, Grails and AngularJS - eliminating manual testing conducted by clients.
• Modernized the product ordering workflow by migrating it to JDK 7, WLS 10.3, EJB3, JAX-WS ... and introducing JMS D-Queues and MDBs.
