• Led multiple teams in a startup initiative, Amazon Academy, focussed on education, #edtech ( www.academy.amazon.in). My team delivered complete backend systems and services that scaled to support 30K+ live students. I managed the Android App for academy, and enabled scale, where we conducted live All India tests with tens of thousands of students. One of my teams scaled and externalised a content management system to support this education initiative. In addition, I bootstrapped a team focused on Machine learning & AI algorithms that focussed on content and used NLP, delivering efficiency. I was also responsible for the live video lectures team, adding video capabilities that supported live and recorded video classes, live chat and other abilities that scaled to an audience of 30K+ live customers.

• Led the development team responsible for Kindle E-reader application software from India. In this role, I delivered 50+ new features, made more than a dozen releases and supported three new Kindle generations. I drove a culture based on innovation, introduced Agile based development processes, added new capabilities in backend and ML and solved longstanding development issues.

• Programs that I delivered set industry leading benchmarks in Audio power consumption, coopting newer hardware and software capabilities. I led geographically distributed teams across India, France & other geographical locations, putting in place processes that drove priority, collaboration cohesion & team spirit resulting in high quality outputs.

• I bootstrapped a new speech/Audio machine learning & signal processing team as well as the entire lab & infrastructure for that in a centre for excellence in Intel India, adding a new capability that has added immense value to the larger team over the years.
• In addition, I picked up additional charters in device e drivers and system software delivering solutions based on Android, Linux and for a brief period on Windows as well.
