Jai Sharda — Co-Founder
I have been an entrepreneur for a majority of my career, wearing all the hats it takes to build a business from ground up. I am a Co-founder at IoTReady, helping businesses track and monitor their assets, inventory, people and productivity. Prior to this, I led the Mid Market team and a KAM team at Razorpay. My teams handled some of the largest customers in Razorpay and was responsible for the relationship management, cross-sell and upsell of all Razorpay products. My role involves helping build the AOP for the business, goal-setting for the team and establishing systems and processes that help them achieve those goals by encouraging accountability and high performance. Earlier, I led the Enterprise Sales team at Paytm, where my team was responsible for selling the entire range of Paytm products to the Paytm corporate customer base in the Payouts business. As the business head and the owner of the Payouts P&L, I was directly responsible for all decisions on Product, Business Strategy, Growth and new initiatives. ENTREPRENEURIAL EXPERIENCE My experience as a serial entrepreneur involved founding four ventures - in IoT (IoTReady), renewable energy (Equitorials Solar), policy advocacy (Equitorials Research) and education (Equitorials). In these roles, I have done extensive BD, discovering new markets and use cases, built partnerships and product market fit. Specifically- In BD/ Market discovery: I have worked on product market fit and business development at IoTReady, where we helped enterprises adopt IoT. I uncovered a product with market potential of over US$ 2 Bn in Indian SMEs. IoTReady has over 20 paying customers across 4 continents. I built a successful inside sales team from scratch at Equitorials Solar, where we sold rooftop solar. I built a sales pipeline of 25 MW, worth over US$ 20 million, selling over 1 MW. In Building Partnerships: I have built institutional partnerships with prestigious organisations like BSE, NSE, SAP, HDFC Bank, LG, as well as educational bodies like GTU and GNLU. As a lean startup venture, we leveraged on these partnerships to achieve a multiplier impact on the business. In Research-based Policy Advocacy: In my venture Equitorials Research, I influenced policy in the Indian Energy sector - my recommendations were incorporated in the Indian national rooftop solar policy. I also worked closely with the Government of MP for the roll out of their net metering policy. Prior to my entrepreneurial stint, I tracked mid-cap stocks as a research analyst with Angel Broking, then India’s biggest retail brokerage firm.
