• Indus is a regional operating system based on Android and is available in 12 languages. It is number 2 mobile OS in India with market share of 7.6%. It has strong regional language focus and also innovates in core system applications area.
• My key responsibilities and accomplishments include:
• Serve as a key member of the management team to set company’s strategic direction.
• Plan and execute product development activities.
• People management and hiring

• Scaled engineering team & processes for ensuring consistent delivery while managing team remotely
• Built IP messaging functionality in our Messaging product (similar to Apple's iMessage) that on server side supports more than 600K concurrent websocket connections on single m4.2xlarge EC2 instance. Also implemented bot framework on top of it to offer services like restaurant, movie, cab booking etc.
• Successfully completed AppBazaar server & client re-architecture project, one of the key products (Google Play Store equivalent) in Indus OS offering, in very aggressive timeline of 4 months.
• Reduced our analytics infrastructure cost to one tenth by switching to AWS Kinesis instead of AMA.

• Arkin is a data center operations and security platform. It targets various use cases in SDN (Software Defined Networking) domain where existing tools fall short and completely changes how an enterprise product functions.
• I was an individual contributor in Arkin and was part of the team that was extremely motivated and talented. Product was built using Java, Samza, Kafka, Postgres, Hbase & D3 js. Arkin was acquired by Vmware in mid 2016.

• Socho was an analytics product that focused on hospitality domain (restaurants and hotels). Basic idea was to provide restaurant and hotel owners with analytics dashboard that summarizes user reviews into higher level information. Using our product, owner could figure out what people feel about different aspects of the restaurant/hotel, which menu items do they like, how competition fairs on similar parameters, trend of ratings over time and much more. For this, our product crawled user reviews from sites like Yelp, TripAdvisor, OpenTable etc., performed natural language processing (NLP) on them to extract facts & sentiments about different aspects of entity being reviewed and presented them in nice UI.
• We were a team of 5 highly focused individuals who went from initial idea to building working prototype in one and half months. On technology front, we built our fact and sentiment extraction engine on top of Stanford Core NLP and used Java, AWS S3, EMR (Hadoop 2.2), RDS extensively. I was responsible for designing end to end architecture of the product and implemented various parts of it.

• Founded in 2004 by a group of seasoned entrepreneurs, Webaroo Inc. is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington with offices in Santa Clara (California), Mumbai (India) and New Delhi (India).
• Webaroo's flagship product,Gupshup, is a messaging service, available for both consumers and enterprises. It enables both private and public mode of communication. Enterprise part of the product is aimed at SMEs and helps fulfill their messaging needs: both transactional and promotional.
• Some of the highlights of both products and my responsibilities are:
• Cutting edge Enterprise offering that is made up of 20+ subsystems offering SMS, Voice, Email, Contacts, Real time analytics, strict compliance with TRAI regulations etc.
• Handles daily volume of 150 million+ messages
• Lead team of 20+ highly talented engineers
• Interface with Sales, Marketing, Support and Customers to understand and prioritize feature requests, issue resolution etc.
• Guide team members technically to build highly scalable systems using mix of proven (like MYSQL, Java) and latest technologies (like MongoDB, Node.js, Scribe, Complex Event Processing etc.)
• Co-ordinate with PM, QA and Operations to ensure timely delivery of various releases
• Define and implement processes within our organisation for improving efficiency and tracking
• In addition to above, I have also done extensive hands-on development. Representative hands-on work that I have done so far is:
• Helped scale enterprise and consumer product for handling 150M+ messages from initial 1M.
• Developed NCPR service under very aggressive timelines to meet stringent performance criteria.
• Developed real time analytics service that measures message volume, different error codes and latency as messages passed through our subsystems.
• Designed and implemented Rich media (photo, audio, video) support in private and public conversations in Consumer Gupshup. I implemented both Server side APIs and client side (Android) changes.

• Founded in late 90’s, Microsoft India development center at Hyderabad boasts of housing top talent across India and working on key technologies and products.
• RRAS stands for Routing and Remote Access Service. It is part of Windows operating system and facilitates VPN access to corporate networks. RRAS is collection of technologies for routing and remote access. Secure remote access is provided by establishing a tunnel between RAS server (Windows 2000/2003) and client (Windows 98/2000/XP/2003/Vista) using PPTP or L2TP. I was test owner of few subsystems in RRAS stack and was responsible for certifying their production readiness.

• Persistent Systems focuses exclusively on Outsourced Software Product Development. It offers services across the life cycle of the product - from R&D to Development, Testing, Support and Professional Services.
• Cerity is a product of Agilent Technologies (former HP) that facilitates analysis of chemical samples. The software centers on the sample rather than the analytical instrument. This makes running samples and analyzing results fast and easy. I was owner of 10+ Cerity components written in C++ and was responsible for design and development of new features for future releases.
