• Cisco UCS - Fabric Interconnects Testing
• Cisco UCS revolves around the Cisco UCS Manager, which acts as a server-domain controller-much in the same way that traditional blade-chassis are server-domain controllers for the 16 or so blades. The traditional configuration and management points are moved out from the individual chassis and promoted up to the datacenter access tier where the Cisco UCS Manager (UCSM) runs as an embedded device manager within a clustered pair of Cisco Fabric Interconnects (FI’s). An instance of the UCS Manager (UCSM) is what defines a Cisco UCS domain. All management and configuration is done at the domain level, not the chassis level. “Service Profiles” form the foundation for the stateless, utility computing model in Cisco UCS. While virtualization of MAC addresses and World Wide Port Name (WWPN) identifiers has been evolving through the industry for years, UCS goes ever further by extending the logical service profile definition to include the hardware, BIOS, CPU, and I/O adapter configuration, versions and settings.

• The project deals with the testing of Telco Service platform product (TSP). The TSP is built on Solaris UNIX platforms and tested with different high availability cluster configurations and RAID. Some application packages are simulated and call load is generated on the cluster nodes to test various functionalities of TSP such as Cluster High availability, performance of the system. System acceptance tests such as First Installation, Upgrade installation, OAM and TSP middleware components (Black box testing) are executed.

• The Backup/Restore product is a high level application that deals with enterprise data storage management. This software is primarily used to backup data (OSS and SQL/MX files) from disks to a tape interface and restores data from the tapes to the disk when required. The product involves client/server architecture, tape interface and uses NDMP protocols. The project involved many new feature enhancements - Parallel backup, manual restart, Wildcarding and Backcopy. The Parallel backup feature enabled the product to back up to two tapes simultaneously. The manual restart feature enabled the user to restart an stopped/aborted backup/restore job. The wildcarding feature enabled the user to use wildcard characters in the backup and restore object specification. Backcopy feature enabled the user to do backup of files from one tape to another tape (T2T).
• Storage management software Testing. -The user will be able to manage the SAN with the FC HBA management software that in turn sits on the HBA and communicates with HBA driver. Various functionalities of the application such as remote host connection, LUN masking, target persistent binding, driver update, failover configuration are tested.
