• Worked on below areas during my Internship at Hortonworks:
• 1) Extracting metadata from files: Worked on extending apache tika and extracting metadata from large amount of hadoop file formats (e.g. ORC, parquet) files using apache tika and running it using spark on hadoop cluster.
• 2) Worked on identifying columns having geographical location information in a hive table. Tools used were Apache openNLP and Lucene.
• 3) CSVDetector: Detecting CSV files are difficult as the format is not formally defined. Implemented CSV detector which detects CSV files and extract metadata from CSV files (e.g. header, separator) and ran it using spark on Hadoop cluster.
