With over 12+ years of professional experience in design and development of distributed systems and big data, currently, I am a Consulting Member of Technical Staff at Oracle Cloud, where I work on building modern Data and AI infrastructure. I am also a committer and PMC member of Apache Ratis, Apache Hadoop and Apache Ozone, three open source projects that enable reliable and efficient data processing across clusters of computers. I have contributed to Apache Ozone, a distributed key-value store that can handle both small and large files. I have published multiple articles on Ozone's features and architecture, and how it integrates with the existing Hadoop ecosystem. My core competencies include large-scale data processing, distributed systems, distributed file systems, and cloud computing. The General Parallel File System (GPFS) is a high-performance clustered file system developed by IBM. It can be deployed in shared or shared-nothing distributed parallel modes.
AFM (Active File Management) is a scalable, high performance, remote file data WAN caching
solution integrated with GPFS clustered filesystem. It uses a proprietary protocol such as NFS or GPFS which provides a POSIX compliant file system interface making the cache complete
transparent to applications.
ADR is an AFM based fileset level replication disaster recovery capability to augment the overall
business recovery solution. A consistent point-in-time view of data can be propagated to the
secondary site by specifying the RPO(recovery point objective) interval with the use of snapshots. In the event of a disaster, the secondary site can be promoted to act as the primary site and applications can be moved to the secondary site to ensure business continuity.
