Rajiv Nagipogu — AI Researcher
I am a fifth-year PhD student in the Computer Science department at Duke. My PhD is concentrated in the interdisciplinary field of DNA and Natural Computing. I have been involved in several theoretical works and their experimental demonstrations. I will be open to Post-doc opportunities in a year! Outside my PhD I am well-versed with training and fine-tuning LLMs as a vestige of my professional life prior to PhD. Recently, I worked with a healthtech firm to bootstrap a novel insights platform using clinical knowledge graphs and training graph neural networks from scratch. Previously, I worked on exploring the capabilities of LLMs, first at Kenome.io and later in the Natural Language Understanding team at Google Research, both under the supervision of Prof. Partha Talukdar. I finished my undergrad in the Computer Science department at IIT Madras in 2017. Here, I worked with Prof. Chester Rebeiro (CR) and Prof. Sutanu Chakraborty (SC). My undergraduate thesis under Prof. CR was picked up by Rust's open source newsletter and our NLP project with Prof. SC resulted in a publication. I enjoy tackling unsolved problems and coming up with innovative solutions irrespective of the domain.
