As a Software Engineer at Cisco, I worked in Cisco switching software group that builds catalyst switching platforms. This group handles all of enterprise switching needs, helping Cisco be the market leader in campus access switching, for both wired and wireless.
I worked on Cisco's Catalyst 9k series switch which is Cisco's next generation switching platform. I was assigned to develop Software Test Plan, automate Test Cases which requires developing code using the most modern development methods with a test driven development focus. I was involved in designing test beds, identify necessary equipment, build topology maps, and estimate test efforts.
Also, I was required to debug and reproduce software defects that involves executing tests, tracking and logging issues and drive them till resolution with verification of bug fixes. This also involved understanding and analyzing customer/solution requirements, planning feature/system test, designing and executing use cases.
Additional to this, I gained experience in Cisco's automation framework, Python Automated Test System (PyATS) and different traffic generators like TRex, Ixia, Spirent.
