  • Took Over architecture design and implementation of GraphQL across products which helped us to achieve declarative UI driven development.
  • Architected a solution for merging both our React Native App and React PWA codebase into one to maximise code sharing and deliver on both platforms in parallel with development being done just once by modifying how Metro and Webpack work to achieve the same.
  • Invested most of the time in figuring out pain points of degraded developer productivity in the current frontend platform which helped to implement platform level solutions like abstracting out server side rendering as a tiny service, building Design System, abstracting common helpers in form of utilities, standardising/abstracting tools like Babel and Webpack which helped the teams to focus on building products and not investing time setting up tools over and over again.
  • In lieu of improving performance of all our frontend projects implemented multiple solutions like serving static resources by compressing them using Brotli, creating multiple builds(differential builds) of resources and serving based on what type of browser is requesting it(modern/legacy) which reduced serving of resources over the wire by 15-20% and improved TTFB(Time to First Byte) performance. Figured out an approach for offloading analytics JavaScript which shaved off 50% JavaScript being downloaded by the browser.
  • Closely worked with entire frontend team, pair programmed with them and mentoring them on coding standards & design principles and guiding them for their career paths.
  • Closely worked with the product and design team to understand their problems better and helped them build better engineering solutions like creating our very own Design System leaf-ui.
  • Presented a talk titled “Subscriptions - A roller coaster ride!” at GraphQL Asia(International GraphQL Conference) talking about how GraphQL subscriptions can be used to build Real Time applications. - http://bit.ly/graphql-asia-talk

  • Architected and implemented AMP(Accelerated Mobile Pages) for Treebo’s consumer website to optimize performance for mobile users which made the page interactive under 2 seconds and improved SEO ranking organically. This also improved developer experience since it was part of the same codebase and stack(React, Webpack and Node.js) so there was no learning curve at all. Wrote a blog for the same to share our solution with the community http://bit.ly/amp-react
  • Worked closely with the Design Team and Enhanced http://ghub.io/leaf-ui our design system to be able to support AMP components using React and Styled Components for consistency and productivity boosts.
  • Architected our Dynamic Pricing and Discounts system and lead a team for the execution of it’s UI which was built using React & Apollo on the client and GraphQL on the server side.
  • Re-architected the Frontend server side (Node.js) stack to a completely serverless architecture using AWS Lambdas, drastically cutting down infrastructure maintenance and debugging costs.
  • Proposed to move to Trunk based development as our Git workflow for productivity boosts and better maintainability with overall improved deliverable time.
  • Setup error and performance monitoring infrastructure which helped to curate a list of platform tasks to make the frontend core platform better and guide the team with design decisions and architectural review which made them excited to do things apart from day to day work.
  • Presented a talk at React Alicante(International React Conference) titled “An unknown land of creating libraries” talking about various JavaScript module systems and how one can wisely create high performant libraries - http://bit.ly/react-alicante-talk
  • Presented a talk at ReactJS Bangalore Meetup#30 titled “Why are you punishing me?” Talking about how to build for modern and legacy browsers and serve less JavaScript over the wire - http://bit.ly/react-meetup30-talk

  • Built the high performant first ever PWA for Bizom which got traction(and cracked business deal for Mobisy) from companies like McKinsey, Tata Steel and H & R Jhonson. It disrupted the market for Lead Management Solution and was awarded as “App of the year” by McKinsey. http://bit.ly/lead-management-system
  • Built the entire frontend team of 8 people ground up and lead the team.
  • Architected the solution for Offline storage for the PWA(using React, Redux and Node.js) which involved offline transactional activities as well for people who go to rural areas to take orders on mobile where there’s no network connectivity.
  • When we started expanding our team, I setup the Monorepo which helped us have all the frontend projects in one place and we were able to setup design and coding standards, maximised code sharing and setup proper PR process for better maintainability and visibility of code.
  • Massively improved the engineering practices by setting up the PR processes, git workflows, improving QA workflows and finally deployment strategies which improved developer productivity and in turn helped business to achieve it’s goals leveraging the power of technology.
  • Presented a talk at ReactiveConf Bratislava(International React Conference) titled “Progressive Loading” talking about various we can build high performant applications - http://bit.ly/reactive-conf-talk
