• Working in Microsoft Defender Mobile Team as a tech lead with a team size of 5 engineers where I designed and lead full stack development of end-to-end systems, from backend infrastructure and services, to client-side libraries and functionalities needed to build security features for Microsoft Defender Mobile Endpoint. • ● Designed and developed backend infra and services for collecting and processing authenticated telemetry events from mobile devices that enabled detection and identification of vulnerabilities and threats present on mobile devices improving the mobile security posture of 5 million enterprise users (MAU) of Defender Mobile.
• ● Designed and developed cross platform client-side library for core infra components like networking, storage, telemetry, message broker etc. and built multiple client-side workflows using this library. Before this cross-plat library was built, defender iOS and Android teams were spending significant time in developing common business logic in platform specific technologies but with this library, the development effort could be unified leading to about 70% improvement in dev agility and about 50% lower maintenance costs. This infra was leveraged by a couple of other app teams in Microsoft as well.

• As a primary security SME and security champ for defender Android, I worked with a team of security architects and external pen testers to identify security weaknesses / vulnerabilities in android defender app:
• ● Developed an in-house tool to orchestrate running security analysis for defender Android App in CI pipeline itself to proactively prevent changes which may have security concerns from getting checked in. This led to a 40% reduction in security issues being reported in pen testing for the defender app.
• ● Built multiple security and privacy features like secure views as a reusable infrastructure to prevent tapjacking attacks and designed and developed telemetry privacy management framework for defender mobile which resulted in defender scoring one of the highest ratings in internal security and privacy product leaderboard.

• ● Developed support to clean up Microsoft Exchange User and Journal On- Premises and Office 365 Mailboxes using Microsoft Exchange Web Services (EWS) thereby increasing performance significantly (about 30%) over the traditional Microsoft Messaging API (MAPI) based clean up.
• ● Developed support for an alternative approach to filter e-mails based on user set criterion without using Microsoft Messaging API's restrictions. As compared to the restriction-based approach, which is slower but consumes less bandwidth, the new approach increased the speed for filtering (by up to 20%) without much increase in bandwidth consumption.
• ● Developed Microsoft's Messaging API (MAPI) based Exchange Mailbox Cleanup module for Commvault's enterprise data and information management software suite. The module works by distributing the assigned task (mailboxes to be cleaned up) to multiple cleanup processes running in parallel in a distributed enterprise environment which are coordinated by a single virtual entity thereby drastically increasing the speed of cleanup (in proportion to the extent of parallelism employed).
• ● Developed module for collection, maintenance, and reporting of errors and analytics in the above distributed model for backup, cleanup and restore.
