  • @Radware, I built a new central monitoring and alerting platform from scratch using kube-prometheus-stack (prometheus operator). This replaced the legacy federated prometheus monitoring and alerting platform. The new platform is serving 16 million metrics ingestion per second across 600 microservices and Kube clusters.
  • To manage the infrastructure, I used Terraform, and for monitoring system deployment on Kubernetes, I used Helm. Metrics collection was done using Prometheus(kube-prometheus-stack) on Kubernetes clusters and non-k8s (EC2 ,VM). Both remotely wrote metrics to the central monitoring platform that is Mimir (Horizontally Scalable Prometheus).
  • For visualization, Grafana was used, and for alerting (Grafana managed, alertmanager managed) opsgenie was used. Alert configuration was done in 2 way via Gitops as Configmap and via API with mimirtool, and there was tooling for gathering alert analytics and testing alert configuration.
  • As part of the project, I also contributed to open source projects such as Mimir, Loki, and others. The technology used included GoLang, Mimir (Horizontal Scalable Prometheus), AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, and Prometheus, Kube-prometheus-stack, ArgoCD, Loki, Graylog, promtail.
