  • I led transaction growth initiatives for MakeMyTrip (Goibibo) Trains category. My goal in this role was to increase transaction conversion rate, launch new allied categories for high frequency travel use cases and increase revenue from the category. In this role -
  • 1. I increased conversion by 10% over a 6 month duration, by reducing a step in the booking funnel.
  • 2. Additionally, I improved conversion by 6% by reducing friction in the in the payments flow. I identified hidden pain points by a combination of qualitative + quantitative insights.
  • 3. I helped in formulating a business model for Rail Info Services (RIS) and put it on a path of annual revenue run rate of Rs. 20L per year.
  • 4. I started a series of initiatives to help in distribution of the product on 3rd party platforms (jury is still out on this one)
  • 5. I reduced Dead End Searches by 12% and added ~300 transactions on a daily basis by introducing a Cross Sell widget.
  • 6. I helped in launching a new category for MakeMyTrip called "Metro" - where users could generate QR Codes and do recharges for Hyderabad and Mumbai Metros respectively. I scaled it to ~2000 transactions on a daily basis over a 3 month period.

  • I had an outsized opportunity to set up the first Post Sales Team at Goibibo (part of MakeMyTrip). This was in the period after the merger between MakeMyTrip and Goibibo. In this role my KRAs were to reduce Contact Ratio, improve NPS and work on the build out of an in-house chatbot platform called Gia. Some of my accomplishments in this role were -
  • 1. I helped reduce Contact Ratio of the org from 18% to 12% (across all categories) over a period of 2 years. I was able to do this while improving org NPS by 10%.
  • 2. I built an in-house chat platform to save $2 million annually, by improving the efficiency of answering customer support queries.
  • 3. The chat platform also generated leads worth $10 million per year for the Holidays business of MakeMyTrip.
  • I was recognized as "Exemplary Manager of the Year" by the Annual CEO's Ring of Honour for the org.

  • I helped set up the first Growth Team at MakeMyTrip at a time when there was increased action in the Online Travel space in India. In this role,
  • 1. I worked on adding 7000 additional app installs on a daily basis by working on the Referral Program and other initiatives. The referrers and friends had better transaction behaviour and better retention than Organic and Paid users respectively.
  • 2. I built a custom push notification engine which had 2X higher delivery success rate.
  • 3. I built a growth channel through WhatsApp (using the WA Business APIs). We launched a viral Rail Info Services bot on WhatsApp which grew organically to reach 10 million users in 6 months.
  • 4. I launched the first alternate app experience called MakeMyTrip Lite (later morphed to Goibibo Express Trains) - built for India's Next 100 Million travelers. The app scaled to 500K users organically in 6 months.
