• Leading Machine Learning initiatives for Amazon India Machine Learning. Responsible for delivering ML initiatives and steering the ML road-map for abuse prevention and payments for Amazon.in. My charter involves:
• 1. Building Fraud and Abuse Prevention Solutions: My team built ML models and products to reduce abusive concession requests for Amazon India. Team solves unique problems associated with India, like customers opening multiple accounts to bypass Amazon systems.
• 2. Improving Payment Experience: Build solutions for encouraging customers toward digital payments and improving payments success rate by recommending best payment channels.
• 3. Powering affordability solutions by building Lending infrastructure: Led the development of underwriting models, targeting strategies and infrastructure for powering Amazon Pay EMI and Amazon Pay Co-branded card with ICICI bank. Led negotiations to influence underwriting criteria of banks and financial institutions to improve approval rates and credit limits for these products.
• The role includes working with senior leadership, product managers to understand business problems, tech teams for implementation of complex and ML solutions.
• During this period I had 3 papers accepted in annual Amazon Machine Learning conference and I got promoted to Principal Data Scientist in Q1 2020.
