My job at Snapdeal comprised engineering and administration of Metrics, Logging and Monitoring platforms using open source technologies.
Have successfully accomplished running a realtime and highly efficient centralised logging system based on EFK comprising of 16 nodes Elasticseach cluster, Fluentd (td-agent) and Kibana that were designed and customised with the help of Kafka to take care of high velocity data points coming per second from the entire infrastructure spanning across more than 3000 servers.
Automation of index creation for elastic search with proper mappings and settings, deletion of old indices, shard reallocation and balancing of primary shards.
Metric collection with real time graphing inclusive of various system parameters like cpu usage, i/o usage and service level parameters like elastic search ,kafka and other tools using Telegraf, Influxdb and Grafana employing kafka for high availability and buffering.
