About

As a full-stack developer, I often found myself in situations where I didn't have a complete setup on my local machine to test my local changes end-to-end and Deployment on the Stage/Prod environment was either not possible or very time-consuming. While solving this problem, I built Requestly to intercept my local traffic and give me request level granular control to modify individual pieces of an API request.

  • Project 1: Optimize e-commerce Landing Pages
  • Started working on a prototype which allows marketers to visually annotate a website and generate site taxonomy to be used by crawler and extract product details (color, price, description etc). This data is further used to optimize landing page content.
  • My role:
  • ➡ Developed a Chrome extension to allow marketer to visually tag a website
  • ➡ Developed Jsoup based crawler to crawl the website and extract product details using the taxonomy
  • ➡ Developed UI widgets like Product Boosters, Top 5 Products
  • This prototype was presented in Adobe Digital Marketing Summit, March 2013. Search #adobesummit #clickclickdone on Twitter to read more about it. (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23clickclickdone%20%23adobesummit)
  • This Idea was decided to integrate into a platform to allow customers to visually create offer on websites which is now Adobe Target.
  • Starting March 2013, I became a part of Adobe Target where I worked upon:
  • ➡ Integration of Adobe Digital Assets Management (DAM) with Target.
  • ➡ Development of WYSWYG Editor

  • I was part of core development team for Google Search Engine and worked on creating a new diff algorithm for transferring data from one server to another. Google crawler crawls the web at regular intervals and dumps the corpus at location which is different from server providing search queries results. It was quite expensive to transfer the whole corpus from dump location to search server in terms of bandwidth and time. I was responsible for developing a mechanism to improve this time consumption and bandwidth cost for transferring whole data corpus from crawler dump location to search results server. I analyzed various diff algorithms like Huffman, Word Diff and developed a new approach based on combination of Global Huffman table and BMDiff. Implemented algorithm showed about 26% bandwidth improvement.
