My pre-recruiting stint was at Power Grid, where I spent 4 years as a Design Engineer in their transmission line division. Power Grid being the central transmission utility of India, I was responsible for preparing bidding documents and perform engineering activities such as tower design, foundation design and electrical design of insulators, conductors and accessories.
I chose to leave this (admittedly very comfortable) job as the position was transferable and I didn’t feel I had enough control over my career trajectory. I decided the opportune time to do this is when I had an offer from IIT Delhi for their full-time MBA program.
