My name is Rajeev Gupta and I am the Curator & Licensee of TEDxKanke Ranchi. I have more than 29 years’ experience. I have been an officer in the Commercial Taxes Department and played a key role in VAT transition and its IT development. As Treasury Officer, I dealt with the treasury function and understanding of the full government budget, TDS and salary function of Government Officers and other related issues and I was the first officer to work towards introducing use of technology to modernize the processes. After taking voluntary retirement from the department after 21 years, I joined JSW Steel Ltd as DGM, Corporate Relations, post which I was the Principal Consultant with PWC India. While working with PWC, I worked as team lead in transition of GST of Jharkhand State. I am a founder member of Ranchi Mall (https://www.ranchimall.net/) in 2017, one of the first startups in India to offer bitcoin bonds and later we came up with our own ICO (Initial Coin offering). I am also a founding member of JOCC (Jharkhand Open Coffee Club- https://www.facebook.com/groups/JharkhandOCC/), a thriving community of 3500+ entrepreneurs currently working across the globe on their ventures. Keen to make Ranchi an Intellectual Capital and Idea Hub through my initiative of TEDxKanke. Working on the ground at rural area to transform village into Smart village. Mentoring start-up of Jharkhand to build a ecosystem for Startups.
