About

Amit is an optimist who is driven by impact and is intrigued by computer world. He loves to hitchhike in the ever changing web world. He has professional working experience with JS and Python but love to toy around with other languages and frameworks as well. He has worked on major cloud service providers. To put in simpler words, he had built small shelters on Azure, Bluemix and GCP but have built a castle on AWS. During his time at SmartJoules he had lead the software development efforts of the smart energy management system "DeJoule" that he and his team built from scratch. He had helped in scaling and shaping the product and the team. DeJoule in it's present state is processing about 72 million unique data points per day and the analytics presented on them are saving enough energy to power 50 households per year. Presently Amit is working with team at Dimagi to improve global development efforts to help accelerate the end of extreme poverty. He is using his software development skills to improve Dimagi's opensource platform Commcare. He is generally excited to talk about scale, product lifecycle, team building and technology.
