Software Development Engineer I

I had the privilege of contributing to the Bharath Katha project, a platform created to empower farmers by providing real-time agricultural information, financial support, and a space for community connection.
As the lead for backend development, I focused on building a strong, reliable system that could truly make a difference for farmers across India. Using Node.js and Express.js, I developed a backend that efficiently handled all the data, with MongoDB managing the information. To ensure the platform could grow and adapt, I used TypeScript to make the code more secure and scalable.
I also worked on automating the infrastructure setup using CloudFormation scripts, which helped streamline deployment. On top of that, I configured various AWS services like API Gateway, ECS, S3, and CloudFront to make sure everything ran smoothly. Integrating Kafka for pub-sub communication ensured that all the microservices could interact in real time, keeping the platform responsive and reliable.
It was incredibly rewarding to build something that could scale and genuinely help farmers in a meaningful way.
