• Developed a Golang framework for automated deployment of microservices on Kubernetes, leveraging EKS, EC2, S3, ELB, DynamoDB, and other AWS services. Deployed thousands of independent, scaled-down Sumo Logic instances on a weekly basis, enabling developers and automation teams to utilize them effectively.
• Successfully migrated Kubernetes workloads from reserved instances to spot instances, resulting in a 50% reduction in development infrastructure EC2 costs. Additionally, developed in-house utilities for auto-remediation in the event of spot instance interrupts. Published a blog post on "Monitoring Spot Interrupts" to share insights and best practices with the wider engineering community.
• Possess a strong aptitude for delving into the internals of technologies to troubleshoot and resolve issues:
• Investigated the internals of DNS to diagnose and resolve HostNameLookupExceptions within our Kubernetes clusters. Shared the acquired knowledge and learnings with the entire engineering team, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing.
• Applied low-level Linux techniques utilizing shared libraries to enable Daylight Savings Time (DST) testing in containerized environments, simplifying the setup complexity and time required for it.
