  • As a Combat Engineer the following roles and responsibilities were assumed by me during the course of my deployment : The specific roles that I prominently and eminently undertook as Chief Logistics Officer( Field Park Company) were:
  • a. Construction of Anti-Infiltration Obstacle System in super high altitude(>15,000 Ft) to seal border areas from infiltration at a capital outlay of Rs 800 Cr of approximately 100kms. This was especially challenging due to lack of roads, local labour, water/construction material, difficult terrain as well as enemy action. The high altitude effect imposed severe constraints and de-rating on planning constants. The task was completed in record time and the Unit was awarded the highest Commendation by the Chief of The Army Staff.
  • b. Provision of field habitat and utility including power, water and roads for a strength of approximately 30,000 troops and complement of equipment(8000). This also involved construction of Helipads and landing grounds. I was awarded Commendation Card by GOC-in-C for these achievements.
  • c. Construction of tunnels and tracks in mountainsides by mechanical and manual means to enable direct connectivity, concealment and protection.
  • d. Saved lives of 22 passengers in an accident involving a Train collision. Awarded COAS Commendation Card for this act of bravery and dedication.
  • e. Provided field habitat and utility services for extended periods for approximately 30,000 troops including operation of Heliports.
  • f. As an instructor, trained over 900 Engineer officers/soldiers of the Indian Army on military subjects to include demolition, mine warfare, explosives, etc.
  • g. Awarded Commendation by General Officer Commanding- In-Chief and COAS Commendation.
