• Built a user-defined model (UDM) of Tesla's grid-forming Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in DIgSILENT PowerFactory. Model included site-level controls, electrical controls and a protection module. Model was designed for load flow, short-circuit and RMS simulation studies. Benchmarked the model with Tesla's PSS®E model.
• Developed and built a workaround logic to extract the voltage phase angle of a zero voltage bus from the DIgSILENT network solution in RMS simulations.
• Developed parameter specifications for Tesla's grid-connected inverter for short-circuit studies in DIgSILENT.
• Performed R2 validation.
• Modeled Tesla's grid-following BESS using generic WECC models in PSLF. Benchmarked the model with the UDM in PSSE. Developed EPCL programs in PSLF to automate dynamic simulation runs and the exporting of results from the PLOT program.
• Conducted high- and low-voltage ride-through tests for multiple projects using playback models in PSSE. Assisted customers with setting appropriate parameters for the Tesla BESS UDM to meet reactive current injection requirements.
• Developed and built a microgrid controller (MGC) in DIgSILENT to enable frequency recovery in systems in which Tesla's grid-forming BESS operate in parallel with diesel generators. The MGC provides frequency references to the generation sources in the system.

• I was the instructor for an undergraduate energy conversion and electric machines laboratory class of 40 students. I completely revamped the course curriculum to make it practice-oriented, teaching students about the transient and steady-state operation of synchronous machines, induction machines and dc machines.

• I improved the design of Fujitec's elevator inverter and regeneration unit circuits and evaluated the existing circuit designs for ratings violation of components in all operational scenarios. I also designed an emergency power supply unit for lighting in Fujitec's elevator car.
