• In its first edition itself, IMAD became India's largest ever MOOC. It has over 210,000 students and over 12,000 applications were built and launched by students during the course.

• The Tech Saloon is an initiative at IIT Madras to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas among faculty, students, alumni, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
• The Tech Saloon hosts bi-weekly or monthly talks, panel discussions and demos. The aim is to feature a diverse set of leading technologists, scientists, innovators and entrepreneurs.
• Each Tech Saloon event consists of one such featured talk or panel discussion, followed by a high-tea social to encourage discussions amongst the attendees.
