Sanjari Srivastava — Co-Founder
I pursued my Master's in the AI track at Stanford University. My research interests lie in NLP, Explainability and Generative Modeling. I took project-based courses CS230: Deep Learning, CS236: Deep Generative Models, Computer Vision, Reinforcement Learning and was a Course Assistant for the Databases courses and Trustworthy ML course at Stanford. I was also pursuing a Research Assistantship under Prof. John Mitchell to explore fairness and explainability in AI. During my undergraduate studies at IIT Kanpur, India, I had taken courses on NLP, CV, ML and worked on projects like Topic Modelling using Independent Component Analysis, opinion detection and object recognition. Prior to starting my Master's, I also spent 4 years in the industry as a Software Engineer at Rubrik Inc., a Cloud Data Management company, where I saw the company grow from just 20 employees in the Bangalore office to its current size. At Rubrik, I have been a part of many critical teams and here's a brief summary in reverse chronological order of what I built and achieved during my time there: 1) Faster builds, Componentization: - Part of, and later Technical Lead of the team which bazel-ized our Scala codebase and made our builds blazing fast. - We also carved out our core snapshot management layer into micro-services which could directly be spun up on Kubernetes in our SaaS based, cluster management plane Polaris. 2) Metadata pipeline, Global SLA: - Set up the first metadata transfer architecture between Rubrik's on-premise offering CDM and Polaris. This helped propel the development of Rubrik's core offerings on Polaris like Anomaly Detection. - Also helped build the framework for allowing customers to create and globally propagate Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for configuring backup/recovery schedules for their workloads. 3) Built the support for protection of new and complex snappables in Rubrik, like VMware vCD.
