About

Neuroscientist, trained as an engineer (computer science & engineering as well as biology) with a PhD in physics, I am currently a researcher probing brain and behaviour in Drosophila larvae. I have previously worked in zebrafish, using light-sheet microscopy, and I have experiences in behavioural experiments and analyses, as well as in building experimental setups using my skills in computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and neuroscience. I got interested in the question of how organisms produce behaviour via trying to make machines and artificial agents learn while studying computer science. I am also interested in science communication. Other things I am interested in include language(s), programming, and history. The image of birds, insects, and fish on my profile is adapted from a painting by the Bengali artist, Jamini Roy, on a bird with fish and insects.
