o The project aimed at developing few basic 3D tools for the 3D viewer/ Stroke Application, which is being developed at Samsung Research Institute, Bangalore for MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) project.
o The task was to identify an effective image segmentation technique for stroke images out of many available methods like variable thresholding, global thresholding, watershed algorithm, Otsu’s method etc.
o Developed a technique that utilizes MR FLAIR as well as ADC (Diffusion Weighted) images to identify the core of the stroke effected area of brain using global thresholding and region growing.
o The results were compared with ground truth images marked by clinician and found to be in good agreement. The developed methodology formed a ground work for developing advanced techniques for stroke lesion segmentation.

Development of an algorithm to forecast the stock market using Neuro Fuzzy & Statistical Modelling

o Objective was to develop an algorithm to predict the chaotic behaviour of stock market using past data and to improve overall winning probability in predicting ups and downs of market.
o Formulated a model in MATLAB by applying technical indicators like moving average, Accumulation Distribution, MACD etc. on stock prices i.e. open, close, low, high of different commodities.
o Different approaches like neural networks, fuzzy statistics and technical analysis have been integrated to optimize the performance of above mentioned model.
